I read this book with my 8 -soon-to-be- 9 year old。 Very informative about what is happening through puberty。 Everything is explained in a simple manner。 It was a good way for opening up conversation about other related topics because my daughter had lots of questions and was very intrigued by what she was learning。 I found some parts inappropriate for an 8 year old, so we skipped over them and she can read them when she is a bit older。 For parents of girls just starting puberty I recommend you I read this book with my 8 -soon-to-be- 9 year old。 Very informative about what is happening through puberty。 Everything is explained in a simple manner。 It was a good way for opening up conversation about other related topics because my daughter had lots of questions and was very intrigued by what she was learning。 I found some parts inappropriate for an 8 year old, so we skipped over them and she can read them when she is a bit older。 For parents of girls just starting puberty I recommend you read the whole book first by yourself first to decide which parts are appropriate for your child at that age。 。。。more

Bought this for my 10 year old daughter。 We read it together and discussed it。 She's also read it with her friends。 More comprehensive than I expected or really wanted it to be in some areas but pitched at the right level of explanation。 Thought the cartoon pictures were helpful。 Bought this for my 10 year old daughter。 We read it together and discussed it。 She's also read it with her friends。 More comprehensive than I expected or really wanted it to be in some areas but pitched at the right level of explanation。 Thought the cartoon pictures were helpful。 。。。more

I'm probably going to get pilloried for this 。。。 but here goes。 I like a book that explains puberty and sex in simple, easy to understand terms, without flowery or secretive nonsense。 This book does that very well and on that score, I'd highly recommend it。 But 。。。 it includes an illustration of "the act" which I really don't think is necessary。 The description is more than enough - talking about what actually happens (including to a man's willy) is probably a bit too much for younger readers, w I'm probably going to get pilloried for this 。。。 but here goes。 I like a book that explains puberty and sex in simple, easy to understand terms, without flowery or secretive nonsense。 This book does that very well and on that score, I'd highly recommend it。 But 。。。 it includes an illustration of "the act" which I really don't think is necessary。 The description is more than enough - talking about what actually happens (including to a man's willy) is probably a bit too much for younger readers, which this book claims to target (8+)。 I'm not that much of a prude, but honestly, I think this book is better targeted to the 10+ age group。 。。。more

The time has nearly come for the talk。。。。 however I think this is a bit old for my 8 year old daughter - feels more appropriate for when she's 9 years old and beyond。 I think 'Girl's Only' by Victoria Parker is a good book to start with for girls aged 8 upwards (especially as my 8 year old is already asking a lot of questions about periods)。 The time has nearly come for the talk。。。。 however I think this is a bit old for my 8 year old daughter - feels more appropriate for when she's 9 years old and beyond。 I think 'Girl's Only' by Victoria Parker is a good book to start with for girls aged 8 upwards (especially as my 8 year old is already asking a lot of questions about periods)。 。。。more

A great way to start explaining growing up!I bought this book for my 9 and a half year old daughter。 She had begun puberty at 8 years and by 9。5 the questions started。 She's very introverted and loves to read, so this was a wonderful resource for both of us to read。 It explained things in reasonable terms for her to understand and helped answer her questions age appropriately。 I would recommend it for many parents needing a little help。 A great way to start explaining growing up!I bought this book for my 9 and a half year old daughter。 She had begun puberty at 8 years and by 9。5 the questions started。 She's very introverted and loves to read, so this was a wonderful resource for both of us to read。 It explained things in reasonable terms for her to understand and helped answer her questions age appropriately。 I would recommend it for many parents needing a little help。 。。。more

I found this to be a very helpful tool in discussing the topics associated with growing up。 As a Christian I appreciated that there was very little secular worldview presented。 I also like the length (only 50 pages) and straightforward presentation of facts。

While I may not be fully ready to talk to my daughter about what's in this book, it's going to be a great place for her to start。 While I may not be fully ready to talk to my daughter about what's in this book, it's going to be a great place for her to start。 。。。more

Short and mostly factual, including the approach to sexual attraction。 This deals with the practical questions girls are going to have about the changes going on in their bodies。 The two sentences on masturbation are a bit more specific and inviting than I would be comfortable giving to a ten-year-old, but then this is a book to read together and talk about anyway。

Debbie Brown。

Brilliant book。Very informative。 It helps girls understand what is happening to them in these tender years。 I would highly recommend it。

I would give this 10 stars if I could because it gave me lots of information that would help me in the future。 I would recommend it for girls my age (10)。

I purchased this book looking for a way to introduce body changes to my almost 9 year old。 As yet I think this book is to much - will keep on shelf and get out when I think she is ready - I really need a book that discusses the very early stages。This is a suitable kids books for 9-10 year olds that are changing early, but there are a few pages that discuss the basics of sex, condoms, tampons etc。 that my I feel my 8 year old doesn't need to know right now。 But every child is different and day at I purchased this book looking for a way to introduce body changes to my almost 9 year old。 As yet I think this book is to much - will keep on shelf and get out when I think she is ready - I really need a book that discusses the very early stages。This is a suitable kids books for 9-10 year olds that are changing early, but there are a few pages that discuss the basics of sex, condoms, tampons etc。 that my I feel my 8 year old doesn't need to know right now。 But every child is different and day at different stages so it will defiantly be read by her in the future。A great, educational/reference book with easy language and just enough detail to give a ready to learn child。 。。。more

I bought this book for my eldest daughter and decided I'd read it first。 It's great for her age group (she's 10) however I was a little hesitant as there were a few topics I hadn't discussed with her yet。 I decided to go ahead and give it to her。 As innocent as she is, I feel it's important to encourage early understanding of the facts opposed to hearing untruthful things amongst her peers (which was already happening) We read it together answering any questions along the way。 It was quite short I bought this book for my eldest daughter and decided I'd read it first。 It's great for her age group (she's 10) however I was a little hesitant as there were a few topics I hadn't discussed with her yet。 I decided to go ahead and give it to her。 As innocent as she is, I feel it's important to encourage early understanding of the facts opposed to hearing untruthful things amongst her peers (which was already happening) We read it together answering any questions along the way。 It was quite short but it was comfortable to read and not overwhelming。It was a clear & honest book with a clear & easy to understand layout including diagrams。After reading it with her I realised just how much she had grown into a young lady。 There were a few giggles here and there but she was really interested, took it all seriously and understood it well。I didn't regret introducing it to her。 。。。more

An excellent introduction to puberty and all the changes that happen in a girl's life around that time。 It explains everything in a non-judgmental and empowering way。 I think this would be a great book to give to a 9 or 10 year old to get them ready for the big changes ahead。 An excellent introduction to puberty and all the changes that happen in a girl's life around that time。 It explains everything in a non-judgmental and empowering way。 I think this would be a great book to give to a 9 or 10 year old to get them ready for the big changes ahead。 。。。more

I thought this was a great book that explained puberty in a way that makes everyone comfortable。 My neice was upset and scared and didnt want to hear anything we said, I got her this book and she felt a little better realizing that this happens to everyone and that she wasnt strange。 It made it easier for her to talk to us and made it easier for us to discuss with her。Two Thumbs Way Up!!

A great resource for discussing maturation with your children。 I highly recommend reading with your child to encourage discussion。
